An application for Pennsylvania UC benefits is effective on the Sunday of the calendar week in which the application is submitted. An application submitted on Sunday is effective that day. An application submitted from Monday through midnight Eastern time on Saturday is effective the previous Sunday. If you want to file an application with an earlier effective date, please call the UCSC serving your area.
